1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 A2A - Brookings, OR

The bike is stock with the following exceptions - The original exhaust has been replaced with a chrome KERKER 4 into 1 Header, the original ignition points have been replaced with DYNA S-3 electronic ignition, the original ignition coils & plug wires have been replaced with MSM High performance coils & wires, the original plastic chain gaurd has been replaced with a chrome aftermarket model, the original shock absorbers have been replaced with 12-series progressive shocks and the original 18" rear wheel has been replaced with a 16" wheel and a fat 140/90 71V Tire, aftermarket LOCKHART INDUSTRIES oil cooler.
Mechanically the bike is in excellent condition.. It fires right up with the electric start, for the traditionalist it starts on the 2nd or 3rd kick... It accelerates and shifts smoothly up through all 5 gears, no funny noise's or excessive smoke.. All electrical appliance's operate as the should... The fuel tank interior has been sealed and is completely rust-free, always run with stabalized premium non-ethanol fuel... Front-to-back, top-to-bottom the bike is remarkably clean, not quite show quality but pretty damn close, never riden on a wet road... Extensive chrome work includes the cam cover, stator cover, clutch cover, sprocket cover, inspection cover, rear grab bar, cam chain adjuster, drive chain adjusters (2), exhaust flanges (4), carb caps (4), carb bowls (4), crankcase breather cover, clock cups (2), clock tops (2), drivers footpeg brackets (2), passenger footpeg brackets (2), left side engine mount plates (3), right side engine mount plate... All 4 blinker stems have been shortened and the stock handle bars have been "pulled back" as was the style back in the day.
